Thanks for stopping by."
ABOUT ME AND MY THERAPY PRACTICE.
Hello, for the past twenty years I have been working within the mental health field as a qualified therapist and a yoga and mindfulness teacher where I facilitate breath and mindfulness techniques and practices that soothe often frazzled individuals within schools, working with children and young adults and also with adults, in many and varied businesses and organisations.
As a registered member of the BACP in my role as a therapist, I have worked in The NHS, with staff and patients and the mental health charities MIND, The Creative Living Centre and Moodswings Manchester. Including my own private practice.
I have an integrative approach to therapy which includes Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Compassionate Mind Training (CMT). I have found CFT & CMT in particular very helpful when working with clients that present with anxiety, depression, PMDD, PND, peri-menopause, menopause, and post- menopause.
I graduated from The University of Salford with a MSc in Advanced Counselling and Psychotherapy. I gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, which led to person-centred counselling training. My experience of working within mental health lead to an interest in yoga and mindfulness and completing a Level 4 British Wheel of Yoga diploma teaching qualification, and then onto an Independent Yoga Network kids yoga and mindfulness teacher certificate and a menopause yoga teaching certificate.
I practice mindfulness and breath work daily and can offer trauma sensitive mindfulness and breathwork classes. I also facilitate restorative mindfulness breath, movement and meditation practices. The past twenty years have been about finding the right tools to ease, soothe and support those (including myself) who find being human at times, challenging.
